John Morris has experienced success in Major League Baseball, business and is a published author.

John began his professional baseball career in 1982 as a first round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals following an All-American career at Seton Hall University. He spent 12 years as an outfielder with the Kansas City Royals, Saint Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, and California Angels. In 1987 he was a member of the National League pennant winning Cardinals. John retired from active play in 1993 and has spent 12 years as an instructor, coach and manager with the Angels and Phillies.  In 2007, John will be a professional scout for the Cincinnati Reds organization.

After his playing career Morris finished his education and earned a B.S. in Political Science from Seton Hall. Outside of baseball John spent five years as a business trainer for a leading health care provider from Japan. He is also a writer and had his first book, Bullet Bob Comes to Louisville, published in 1999. Several of the short stories from the book have appeared in the award winning motivational book series Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Through MVP Training, John’s company works specifically with elite athletes, business professionals and individuals both personally and professionally in helping them reach their highest potential.  He also utilizes his many connections on the college and professional level to assist elite athletes in the recruiting and selection process.

John is also a highly sought after speaker who entertains and inspires audiences by taking his baseball experiences and interweaving them with themes of everyday life.

Born and raised in North Bellmore, NY, John now resides in Reading, PA.
