Having spent over twenty years in professional baseball–the past eleven as a field coach with the California Angels and Philadelphia Phillies– I’ve had the good fortune, even honor, of competing with and against many of the all-time greats. You have had your own personal experience in or around competitive sports. Both you and I have, at one time or another, asked the question: “What makes some athletes more successful than others?”

Part of the role of a coach is to help individuals reach their highest potential. Effective coaches want to be the ones who hold the mirror up for others to see themselves more clearly. You may be looking to enhance the probability of success in some area of your life. Perhaps working with a new kind of professional coach is the answer you are looking for. The following discussion may provide some valuable insights for you in determining if working with a coach is in your best interest.

What is the “secret” behind successful people like Michael Jordan, Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Roger Clemens, and Colin Powell?

They all had a mentor, a coach to guide them to discover their strengths and hidden abilities. Behind every successful person is someone who guides them, mentors them, and challenges them—someone who sees more in them then they see in themselves. For someone who wants to be successful in life, having a coach makes sense.

What is coaching and how will it benefit me?

Coaching takes the best of psychology, counseling, business consulting, athletics, philosophy, spirituality, and finance. A coach takes the time to find out what winning means to you and challenges you by providing tools, structure, support and accountability every step of the way. A coach asks you to do more than anyone else has ever asked of you, including yourself. Discussion continues >>
