For Students and Athletes:

Balance!

If I could only use one word to define what hitting a baseball means then “balance” is the word I would use. Imagine what hitting a baseball would feel like if we didn’t have a sense of balance before, during and after the swing?

Take any sport activity for example. Can we really be successful if we don’t have balance? How about throwing a football, hitting a golf ball, or shooting a basketball? They all require balance. The same can be said for activities like walking or getting out of a chair. They too require a sense of balance.

Let’s take this concept one step further. I often speak with students and athletes about the importance of creating balance in other areas of their lives. I like to call these areas the Pillars of Health and they include:

Healthy Body
Healthy Mind
Healthy Family
Healthy Society
Healthy Finances

Imagine what the quality of your life would be like if you had balance in all five of these areas? You may be asking yourself why this is so important. Imagine a tire that is filled with air and you decided to drive a nail thru one side of the tire. Would just that one side of the tire go flat or would the entire tire go flat?

The same can be said for the pillars of health. When we “are flat” in one area of our life it can negatively impact other areas of our life as well. The news is filled with stories of men and women endowed with great athletic abilities whose lack of balance in their lives has made them sad examples of potential tossed away.

So there’s more to the big picture then the fact that we can work together to develop a great swing or a great throwing arm. That’s only part of the balance we will seek for you.

I want you to experience joy in every area of your life. Let’s take a look together and explore how we can make that happen for you.

Sincerely,

John Morris
